The landscape is the primary inspiration for all my work. Cycles of geologic time including erosion and sedimentation inform my process-based works on paper. Topographic contours inspire wall installations of reeds which function as three-dimensional drawings. And walks in the woods provide raw material for video installations and sculpture.
Much of my work is temporal. Objects and materials are assembled for a brief period of time, then dispersed to be reconfigured in another place and time--much like the land itself.
