WINN REA: FLOW Process Drawings and Video from the Field

SOLO EXHIBITION

Jan. 8- Feb.1 , 2014

Phoenix Gallery
New York, NY

Process dictates form in this solo exhibition

Drawings: The drawings were made on site, sitting beside a stream in the woods. Tantric orbs and loops populate the paper.  Color is limited to the range of pigment found in leaves that are bunched and rolled into drawing tools.  No other pigment or tool was used.

Videos: The drawings “made” the videos—that is to say the video camera (an iPhone) was perched on a wooden shingle on which the drawing was made.  The friction of drawing generates both the sound you hear and the vibration that causes the image to quiver.

View: Lunar Knot Serie-- A knot-hole in a shingle became the viewfinder for these "sine-wave" images.
