The mundane becomes both profane and sacred in these works using recycled water bottles. Community members were invited to get involoved by donating and cuttling bottles into the spirals that spill down from above.
When flooded with light this mundane material is transformed into a seductive visual experience.
Ironically, this same material is emblematic of our throw-away consumer society--we are literally pouring out and wasting one of our most precious resources.
From corporate water extraction to the threat that hydrolic fracking now poses to drinking water reserves, we often disassociate ourselves from the impact we have on our vital resource of water.
